Salam Dharejo is an experienced rights activist, social researcher and awards-wining freelance journalist with more than 15 years of experience in humanitarian and journalism sector. He is currently head of the country program of Pakistan at Terre des hommes Germany and is steering various initiatives to safeguard the rights of children in general and refugee children of Afghanistan, Bengladesh, and Rhohingya in particular. He is leading Destination Unknown - Children on the Move, a global campaign in Pakistan on the rights of displaced children, and is also heading a network of organizations to advocate the rights of children from migrant families. He has worked as a social researcher and has conducted research on the issues of child labor, bondage and slavery, and migrant rights. Besides his active engagement in advocacy and research, he is an award-winning freelance journalist and is regularly contributing to write-ups to Newsline, one of the most distinguished monthly English magazines. In recognition of his excellence in writing on rights including migrants, he has been honored with different international and national prestigious awards. He has a master's degree in international relations with many trainings and courses on the issues of children, labor, and refugees.
