Mirjana Tomic

Mirjana Tomi? is a Vienna-based seminar curator, journalist, and media trainer. She works for Forum Journalismus und Medien, the most prominent organization in Austria specialized in training programs for journalists. Mirjana specializes in developing seminars on current international affairs. She has also conducted training in international news literacy for the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna, Austria's public broadcaster and the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung in Vienna. Mirjana's professional experience encompasses journalism - international correspondent and war reporter; media relations and public outreach for a UN agency; political analyses for international think-tanks, and university lecturing. Mirjana has a keen interest in international media literacy, specially designed for journalists, political analysts, and academics. She focuses on how highly educated people, those who spread knowledge, obtain their information, and form public opinion. Mirjana holds a B.A. degree in political science from Brandeis University, Massachusetts, US, a graduate diploma in international relations, from The Johns Hopkins University, SAIS, Bologna, Italy, and an M.A. in political science from El Colegio de México, Mexico City, Mexico. She is fluent in six languages and has lived in seven countries.
