Esra Suel

Esra is a health data research Fellow at the School of Public Health, Imperial College London. Her current research is focused on the use of emerging sources of digital data for characterising urban environmental features and exposures. She works with street level images, high resolution satellite data, and mobile phone data. She is mainly interested in regular monitoring of socio-economic status, housing quality, and transport characteristics in urban areas at high spatial resolution. She has been leading an imagery-based deep network analysis for exposure as part of a global health cities project funded by Wellcome Trust. She has a PhD in transportation studies from Imperial College London, master's degree in mechanical engineering from University of Michigan Ann Arbor, and a bachelor's degree in mechatronics from Sabanci University in Istanbul.
