Lara Nicholson is a rising sophomore mass communication student at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA. She is also minoring in psychology and Spanish, having studied Spanish for five years to date. As a journalist, she is interested in raising political activism and media literacy for minority groups, creating equal representation of peoples in media coverage and utilizing objective, ethical news reporting techniques in writing. She currently works as a news writer for the university's newspaper, having published 12 articles thus far. Her articles include researching bicycle theft trends on campus, interviewing anti-e-cigarette organizations on campus and covering rallies at the Louisiana State Capitol Building. She hopes to pursue journalism as a lifelong career, writing with objectivity and fairness in order to help eliminate the spreading "fake news" culture in the United States.
