Jenny Wood

Jenny Wood is co-founder of A place in Childhood (APiC) as well as a research and participation specialist, who has spent over 10 years working with and for children and young people. Her core professional interest is understanding social systems and human-environment interactions, towards identifying socially-just policy interventions to complex problems. She is a leading expert in children's human rights and the built environment with a strong track record in the field of homelessness and assisting people experiencing severe and multiple disadvantages. She is author of many academic papers and reports, including the first overarching review of the child-friendliness of town planning systems across the UK. She has a keen interest in the Child Friendly City Movement, preventative social policy, and has advised on research on child-friendly environments in South Korea. Prior to APiC, Jenny conducted a PhD which highlighted the spatial implications of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
