Martha Davis

Bournemouth University, UK

Martha is a media and communications student at Bournemouth University in England. She is interested in youth politics and advocacy. Before coming to Salzburg, she worked for the past year as the media supervisor for the Archipelagos Institute of Marine Conservation on Samos Island in Greece. Within this role she worked with media students as well as scientists who specialised in marine and terrestrial biology to communicate conservation science on local, national and international levels. Prior to university, Martha worked in a variety of roles: as a film runner for a film with the Natural History Museum, for education and social action organisations as an engagement officer, and as a planning member of a community action group raising money to improve transport for newly arrived refugees and asylum seekers. Current global issues that interest her include the the political reaction to the climate strikes lead by students, societies' increasing immunity towards traumatic and shocking headlines, and neglect of reports regarding the destruction of our natural world.
