Shinichiro Okazaki is a senior deputy director for the Healthcare Industries Division at the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) in Japan, where he is working on projects promoting preventive healthcare businesses. His projects aim to make healthcare systems more sustainable and involves companies of non-traditional healthcare sectors such as retail, electronics, and software in addition to pharma and medical device companies. He is also working on projects promoting international collaboration in areas of aging and dementia. Prior to his current role, he worked on policy areas such as international trade, energy, national economic growth strategy, and biotech industry. He holds a Bachelor of Law from Kyoto University in Japan and a Master's of Business Administration from the University of California San Diego.
