Hiroko Nishimoto has more than 14 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, engaging in strategy/policy planning, implementation, and project management and has held different roles within corporate strategy, business development, external affairs, and social responsibility. Between 2015 and 2017, she was seconded to the IFPMA (International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations) in Geneva, Switzerland as Japan liaison executive and worked to create synergies across public and private sector on health policy decisions and partnerships in areas of access to health, neglected tropical diseases, anti-microbial resistance, non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and anti-counterfeiting. She joined the Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) in 2018. She leads HGPI's work on accelerating the patient advocacy platform in the areas of non-communicable diseases and aging by working closely with civil society and patient leaders. She is currently a visiting researcher at the Department of Global Health Policy, Graduate School of Medicine at the University of Tokyo, and advisor to Modulus Discovery Inc. She holds a Bachelor of English Literature from Doshisha University and a Masters of Business Administration from the Graduate School of Business and Finance at Waseda University.
