Ainslie Cromar

Emerson College, USA

Ainslie Cromar is a sophomore print journalism major at Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts where she hopes to become an investigative writer. She transferred to Emerson after receiving both her high school diploma and Associate's degree from Clark College at 17 years old. She was the managing editor of The Indy, Clark's newspaper in Vancouver, Washington, and freelanced with two other local papers before interning with the Portland Tribune where she led work on a large feature project which impacted the greater community. At Emerson, she has worked on a thesis regarding gender-justice within jazz music. She also hosts a weekly radio show, acts in a sitcom and has corresponded for two Emerson news shows. Aside from her projects at Emerson, she's studying performing arts at the Berklee College of Music, focusing on her primary instrument, trombone, and her secondary instrument harp. She's a staff instructor for young trombonists with the Beantown Swing Orchestra.
