Hu Yang is a Ph.D. student from the School of Journalism and Communication at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He started his doctoral studies at CUHK in 2017. His research interests include journalism, news, media & society, and political communication. Several of his recent projects have focused on "fake news". More specifically, he investigated how news audiences understand fake news and authenticate news items, how different social sectors combat fake news, and how media-correction works in the spread of fake news. Before he came to Hong Kong, he studied in Beijing for six years. He received an M.A. in journalism and a B.S. in mathematics from Renmin University of China.
