Angela Hof

Associate Professor, Department of Geography & Geology, University of Salzburg, Austria

Angela Hof is an associate professor in the Department of Geography and Geology, University of Salzburg. Her research interests include urban geography and ecology, urban ecosystem services, water resources, and applied geoinformatics for spatial analysis and simulation. Her recent interdisciplinary research has focused on urban transformation by and through residential tourism and its impact on urban water metabolism in Mediterranean contexts. In the field of urban ecology, she works on ecosystem services of urban trees and currently leads Urban Trees as Climate Messengers of Young Citizen Science and Sparkling Science Project, which is funded by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF). Angela's recent work has included biodiversity-ecosystem service relationships, accessibility of urban green spaces and cultural ecosystem services of urban parks. She holds a first degree in physical geography from Giessen Universitya master's degree in geographical information for development from Durham University, and Ph.D. in geography from Ruhr-Universität Bochum.
