Scott Ratzan

Senior Fellow, Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government, USA

Scott C. Ratzan is a Senior Fellow at the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government. He has three decades of pioneering accomplishments in the US and globally in health communication, health literacy, and strategic diplomacy. He is also editor-in-chief of the Journal of Health Communication: International Perspectives. His previous positions were as president of the ABInBev Foundation, vice president of global health at Johnson & Johnson, and in government at the US Agency for International Development (USAID). Currently, he serves on the Board on Global Health for the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine and has formerly was a co-chair of the UN Secretary General's Every Woman Every Child Innovation Working Group. Scott started in academia as a founding director of the Emerson-Tufts Masters Program in Health Communication and has academic appointments include adjunct professor at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, Tufts University School of Medicine, and George Washington University School of Public Health. Scott has an M.D. from the University of Southern California, an M.P.A. from the Harvard Kennedy School, and an M.A. in communication from Emerson College.
