Whee Jim Yeo

Institute Director, Institute of Governance and Policy, Civil Service College, Singapore

Whee Jim Yeo is currently the institute director of the Civil Service College (CSC)'s Institute of Governance and Policy (IGP). He was previously senior director at the Ministry of Culture, Community, and Youth (MCCY), during which he was part of the founding leadership team that established the Ministry in 2012. He was also a board member of the Singapore Art Museum and the Singapore-Tyler Print Institute, and the trust secretary to the Cultural Matching Fund. He remains a member of Anderson Secondary's School Advisory Committee. In 2000, Whee Jim started in the Singapore Public Service with a posting to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He also had postings to the Singapore Embassy in Beijing; the Public Service Division/Prime Minister's Office; the Ministry of Information, Communications, and the Arts; the Ministry of Defence and the Public Service Commission Secretariat. Whee Jim has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Japan's Osaka University and an MBA from Norway's BI Norwegian School of Management. He graduated from the inaugural Organisation Development Certificate Programme that was jointly administered by Singapore's CSC and the NTL Institute, a non-profit educational institute. He is a recipient of the Lien Ying Chow Legacy Fellowship, which aims to promote and strengthen Singapore-China relations.
