Xiguang li is a supervisor of Ph.D. and M.A. students in journalism school and a supervisor of MPH students in the school of medicine, at the Tsinghua University. Prof. Li is director of the Institute of Health Communication, director of the International Center for Communication Studies, director of the university’s Center for Pakistani Culture and Communication Studies, dean of the Chinese Academy of World Agendas, and honorable dean of the School of Global Journalism and Communication of the Southwestern University of Political Science and Law. He is also the founder of the journalism school of Tsinghua University. Prof. Li is a fellow at the Joan Shorenstein Center on Press, Politics and Public Policy at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and senior editor and director of the political, cultural, and science desk of Xinhua News Agency. Some of the more recent books by Prof. Li include Soft Power and China Dream, Soft Power and Global Communication, Intellectual Dialogues of Tibet, and The Future of Journalism Education. He has received a number of significant national and international awards, including the Pakistan President’s award, UNAIDS award for outstanding contribution to the control of AIDS, and China’s best health educator award, to name a few.
