Carine Allaf

Senior Programs Advisor, Qatar Foundation International (QFI),USA

Carine Allaf is a senior programs advisor at Qatar Foundation International (QFI), in Washington, DC. Although she works across all programming, she focuses primarily on international programs of QFI, elementary Arabic dual language immersion schools, monitoring and evaluation, and research. Carine has been part of QFI's work since 2011, and has worked in the education, development, and non-profit fields for over 15 years as a teacher, scholar, and practitioner in the United States and the Arab world. She has worked at the American Community School in Beirut, Lebanon, Teachers College, Columbia University's international education development program, Save the Children in Iraq, and UNICEF in Jordan, Sudan, and Palestine. She has also served as a consultant for the Inter-Agency Network for Education in Emergencies (INEE) on a variety of projects. Carine holds a B.A. from Lehigh University, an M.Ed. in elementary education from the Department of Curriculum and Teaching at Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Ph.D. in comparative and international education from the University of California, Los Angeles.
