Olena Orzhel

Education Reforms Office, Ministry of Education, Ukraine

Olena Orzhel currently works at the Education Reforms Office - a think-tank that assists the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in implementing education reforms and soliciting international donors' assistance. She is involved in projects aimed at reform of education funding, bullying prevention, advancement of value-based education, as well as digitalization of education. Her previous positions include monitoring manager at the Erasmus+ Office of Ukraine, associate professor at the European Integration Department, international relations officer, and teacher of English. She has over 50 publications dedicated to social cohesion, university leadership and social responsibility, European governance, text linguistics and communication. Her initial qualification was as a teacher of English; later she obtained a Ph.D. degree in linguistics; as a Muskie Fellow, she took part in a one-year professional development program at Indiana University, USA, where she specialized in public affairs; she obtained a post-doctoral degree in public administration in 2013.
