William Dietel

Senior Partner

William Dietel is the senior partner of Dietel Partners, a philanthropic consulting firm. He has combined careers in academic, philanthropic, and nonprofit sector leadership spanning more than 40 years. Mr. Dietel has extensive experience as a board member and officer of numerous philanthropic and non-profit organizations including the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and the New York Public Library. Presently, he is president of the Pierson-Lovelace Foundation and the Brain Mapping Medical Research Center in Los Angeles. As a private consultant, Mr. Dietel advises philanthropists and philanthropic organizations as well as nonprofit organizations in matters of governance, management, and long-term strategic planning. He is an honors graduate of the Special Program in the Humanities, Princeton University, and received M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in history from Yale University. He served on the faculty of Session 341, Non-Governmental Organizations: Toward Effective International Partnerships, in 1996.
