Afifah Ismat Rahman-Shepherd

Research Analyst, Centre on Global Health Security, Chatham House, UK

Afifah Rahman-Shepherd is a research analyst at the Centre on Global Health Security, Chatham House. She is currently researching and managing a number of projects that explore the One Health landscape in Europe, Africa and Asia, identifying key challenges to the operationalization of the approach and engaging stakeholders across the public and private sectors in discussions on how best to overcome these barriers. Afifah's previous research and academic experience has similarly focused on the intersection between infectious disease control and global health policy and has had the privilege of working at the National University Health System and Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health in Singapore, the International Union Against TB and Lung Disease Asia-Pacific Office, Mahidol University in Bangkok, the Institut Pasteur in Paris, and a number of non-governmental organizations across South-East Asia. She obtained her M.Sc. from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine
