Kujtim Mersinaj

One Health Expert, Southeast European Center for Surveillance and Control of Infectious Diseases (SECID), Albania

Kujtim Mersinaj, is a One Health expert at Southeast European Center for Surveillance and Control of Infectious Diseases (SECID). He is a veterinary epidemiologist and a conservation biology scientist. Prior joining SECID, he was the director of the Department of Veterinary Epidemiology and Animal Identification at Food Safety and Veterinary Institute. Kujtim has a strong interest in environment conservation and is currently the Chairman of the Society for Protection and Preservation of Natural Environment in Albania (PPNEA). His scientific work places special emphasis on brucellosis, anthrax and other zoonotic diseases epidemiology. In addition to veterinary public health, his research interests include ecological studies related to vector species and mammal conservation. Kujtim has a master's in infectious diseases and doctoral degree in veterinary epidemiology from the Tirana Agricultural University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
