Shaba Kilasi

Field Epidemiologist, Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly, and Children, Tanzania

Shaba Kilasi is a field epidemiologist at the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly, and Children, working in the Community Based Health Program, and also worked in Mbeya Regional Health Management Team as part of the Regional Epidemiological Capacity Building Program. Shaba has worked on factors influencing utilization of cervical cancer screening among HIV Positive women attending CTC in South west Highland Tanzania. In 2017, he worked on faster detection. In 2014, Shaba worked on factors influencing utilization of cervical cancer screening among HIV positive women in Tanzania, and was also involved in community health workers Curriculum development. He has worked on Awareness and Knowledge of Structural Birth Defects among women attending reproductive and child health clinics in the coastal region, Tanzania. In June 2014, Shaba worked on demographic characteristics of women who attended Ocean Road Cancer Institute (ORCI), Dar Es Salaam for cervical cancer screening. Additionally, he has worked on evaluation of Palliative care data collection cascade at ORCI. From 2008-2013, he was a head of pre-service training Southern-West Zonal Heath Resource Centre.
