Heather Nonhlanhla Maseko

Assistant National Coordinator, Civil Society Network on Climate Change, Malawi

Heather Maseko recently assumed the role of response coordinator at Peace Corps Malawi. She served as the assistant national coordinator with the Civil Society Network on Climate Change. In this role, she is responsible for capacity building, partnerships and networking, program management, information management, and advocacy. Heather is also a former TEDX speaker, founder of the Green Campus Initiative, and co-founder of the National Youth Network on Climate Change. She has been an African advocate on climate justice for young people and vulnerable communities since 2009. She coordinates programs on climate adaptation, environmental management, policy and advocacy in Malawi. Her advocacy work includes involvement in We have Faith Campaigns, Burning Question Campaign, Go Green Malawi, Commonwealth Parliament, 350events, and local advocacy. With a growing interest on attaining climate justice, she has been engaged in United Nations climate negotiations, United Nations Environment Program initiatives, Southern African Development Community fora, and has been featured in a number of videos and documentaries on climate change.
