Noyuri Mima

Professor, Future University Hakodate, Hokkaido, Japan

Noyuri Mima is a professor at Future University Hakodate in Japan. After serving as a member of the establishing committee of both Future University Hakodate and National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan), she became a professor at the university from 2000 to present and a deputy director at the museum from 2003 to 2006. In 2008, she has started Science Support Hakodate, a voluntary association for promoting science communication and developing science literacy of citizens. Because of this, she was awarded the 2014 Science and Technology Prize from the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology. In 2013, she was appointed as a member of the governors of NHK, Japan's broadcasting corporation, for a three-year term. Her research and development has focused on promoting learning, communication, and networking in science, technology, and art from a wide range of knowledge and experience in computer science, cognitive science, and education. She has also published several books for children, high school students, and researchers. She received B.E. and Ph.D. from University of Electro-Communications in Japan and Ed.M. from Harvard University and University of Tokyo. Noyuri is a Fellow of Salzburg Global Seminar.
