Veena JHA is project coordinator and representative to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCIAD) in New Delhi, India. In this capacity, she coordinates projects on trade, investment and environment issues with The Department of International Development, United National Environment Program, Asian Development Bank, The World Bank, and bilateral aid agencies such as the Danish International Development Agency. She worked as an Economic Affairs Officer in the Trade and Environment section of the International Trade Division of UNCIAD from 1992 to 1997, and as a research fellow of the United Nations Research Institute of Social Development from 1991 to 1992. She has been a consultant for the South Commission on regional development banks, and has taught international economics and managerial economics at Queens College, Oxford, University College, London; and at the Lady Spencer Churchill School of Management, Wheatley, United Kingdom. She received a B.A. from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi, and an M.A. and a Ph.D. in economics from the Delhi School of Economics and the University of London, respectively.
