Shera Chok

Medical Director, Tower Hamlets GP Federation, UK

Shera Chok is a GP in East London and is the medical director for the Tower Hamlets GP Federation. She founded the Shuri Network, the first national NHS network for women of colour interested in digital health and technology in 2019 to encourage more women to lead digital transformation and help increase diversity, staff engagement and innovation. She has also been the chief clinical information officer at Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust, director of primary care in the largest acute trust in the NHS and medical director for NHS Lambeth. Shera is also a member of the national Independent Reconfiguration Panel, which advises ministers on NHS redesign programmes. She has worked in countries including Sudan, Laos, Indonesia and Greece in trauma, primary care and mental health with international NGOs serving patients affected by war and natural disasters. She has completed an M.B.A., an M.A. in inter-professional education and a Nuffield Trust Fellowship on cross-organisational learning and has studied at the Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard School of Public Health and the Institute of Health Improvement (IHI) in Boston.
