Tom Ndahiro is a Rwandan researcher who specializes in genocide ideology and genocide denial. Previously, as a practicing journalist, he published multiple works in Kinyarwanda, English, and French. Much of his work is based on primary research, using his knowledge of Rwandan society, culture, and history. For over 15 years, Tom has run a private documentation and archives center that helps many researchers doing research in the field of genocide and violent extremism. He is the author of The Friends of Evil: When NGOs Support Genocidaires, which was published in 2013. After genocide against Tutsis in 1994, he became the head of external relations for the National Office of Information, as well as the editor in chief for Imvaho Nshya, a weekly newspaper. He was also Rwanda's human rights commissioner for seven years, heading the department of civil and political rights. Moreover, he is a member of the Interdisciplinary Genocide Studies Centre (IGSC), and the International Association of Genocide Scholars. He is a member of Rwanda's Chancellery for Heroes, National Orders, and Decorations of Honor. He has been a guest speaker at several institutions in Africa, Europe, and the United States. Tom lectures in Kinyarwanda, Kiswahili, and English.
