Thitinan Pongsudhirak

Thitinan PONGSUDHIRAK is associate professor and director of the Institute of Security and International Studies at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok. He has authored many articles, books chapters on Thailand´s political economy, foreign policy, the role of the media, and ASEAN and East Asian security and economic cooperation. His op-eds regularly appear in the media, including a column in the Bangkok Post, and he has worked for The Nation newspaper, The BBC World Service, the Economist Intelligence Unit, Independent Economic Analysis, and numerous consulting projects related to Thailand´s macro-economy and politics. Dr. Pongsudhirak´s publications include “After the Red Uprising” in the Far East Economic Review, May 2009; “Thailand Since the Coup” in the Journal of Democracy, October-December 2008, and Dissident Democrats: The Challenge of Democratic Leadership in Asia (Palgrave MacMillan, 2008). Dr. Pongsudhirak received his B.A. from the University of California, his M.A. from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, and Ph.D. from the London School of Economics.
