Sue Su has been the secretary general of the Huang Yicong Foundation in Shanghai since 2007. The Foundation works with NGOs to provide funding to facilitate and design programs to alleviate poverty in rural areas. It focuses on early childhood development and education programs as well as enhancing economic conditions in the southwest region of China. In addition, the Foundation works closely with grass-root NPOs and provides internship opportunities for college students. Sue began her career in the manufacturing and banking areas for a number of years and gained comprehensive experience in productivity, efficiency and related managerial functions. She has been in the philanthropic sector since 1999. In 2015, the China Philanthropy Times named Sue as one of the "100 Most Influential People in Philanthropy" in China. Sue obtained master's degrees in linguistics and in industrial management from the University at Stony Brook, New York in the US.
