Rawan Alsheikh

Lebanese American University, Lebanon

Rawan AlSheikh is currently pursuing her bachelor's degree in communication, with a minor in advertising and public relations, at the Lebanese American University (LAU). She was initially pursuing a major in political science but changed her major after her first semester as she realized that, while she loves politics and enjoys talking about it, she didn't want it to be her path in life. Rawan used to work as the marketing and public relation coordinator for a political magazine in Beirut, and has also participated in the Model Arab League Program (MAL) at LAU as a public relations coordinator. It was in this role that she found she enjoys communicating with others as she has good communication skills and is able to make her idea clear for others. Rawan was the student council president for her high school, St. Joseph School in Ramallah- Palestine, and also a student council member. She was a member of the Peace conflict Resolution Program, and participated in Bridging the gap: How to resolve Disputes through Negotiation program, In partnership with the Harvard University Negotiation and Mediation Clinical Program (Harvard Law School)." She speaks Arabic, English, French, and recently learned Turkish. She is planning to learn Spanish in fall.
