Taizo YAKUSHIJI, Tokyo Taizo Yakushiji is the executive research director at the Institute for International Policy Studies in Tokyo and also a member of the Council for Science and Technology Policy in the Japanese Cabinet Office. Professor Yakushiji also serves as an adjunct professor at United Nations University in Tokyo, and, since 1991, in the Faculty of Law of Keio University, where he was also vice president for academic and international affairs from 1997 to 2001. He is a former visiting professor at the Research Institute for Advanced Science and Technology at the University of Tokyo and a former Ushiba Memorial Fellow at the German Institute of Foreign Policy in Bonn and the French Institute of International Relations in Paris. Professor Yakushiji holds a Ph.D. in political science from the Department of Political Science of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge. He served on the faculty of Salzburg Seminar 358, The Social and Political Implications of the Internet, in 1998.
