Ellen Bloom is the vice president, chief administrative officer, and corporate secretary at the Carnegie Corporation of New York. She supports the mission, objectives, and priorities of the Corporation by leading and managing human resources, information technology, grants management, facilities, and trustee relations. Ellen has 23 years of human resources experience in the corporate world. She began her career in human resources at R.H. Macys as employment manager and labor relations manager. She then worked in a number of global business units at American Express as a senior generalist partnering with the business leaders to drive high growth results. Ellen spent 20 years with American Express, where her most recent position was senior vice president of global talent, responsible for global diversity, learning systems, executive development, retention, staffing, and leadership effectiveness. Ellen holds a B.Sc. in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University and a J.D. from New York Law School.
