Özdem Sanberk is the former director of the Turkish Economic and Social Studies Foundation (TESEV) in Istanbul. From 1995 to 2000, he served as Turkish ambassador to the United Kingdom in London. In addition, he served as the permanent undersecretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ankara from 1991 to 1995, and as ambassador to the European Union in Brussels from 1987 to 1991. Ambassador Sanberk has also served as deputy permanent representative to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization in Paris. Ambassador Sanberk has been published widely in both Turkish and English on issues related to civil society, economics and foreign policy. He is a graduate of the Law Faculty at Istanbul University.
