Gerhard Pulfer manages and coordinates the work of Porticus around Education in Displacement. The interest of Porticus in this field of work is to promote holistic and meaningful learning outcomes for displaced learners, beyond an access orientation. Holistic learning, in the Porticus definition, also encompasses wellbeing, as well as social and emotional learning. Porticus is an international organization that manages and develops the philanthropic programs of charitable entities established by Brenninkmeijer family entrepreneurs. Before shifting into his current position in Porticus, Gerhard managed Porticus programs in the Middle East and set-up an Education in Emergencies progam around the Syrian refugee crisis in Jordan and Lebanon. Gerhard has accumulated many years of experience in aid coordination and governance in conflict affected and fragile settings. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Sciences from the University of Vienna.
