Gayatri Palat is the program director of the PAX India Program of Two Worlds Cancer Collaboration by the International Network for Cancer Treatment and Research (INCTR) Canada and is currently working as a consultant in the Department of Pain and Palliative Medicine at the MNJ Institute of Oncology, Hyderabad. She is one of the founding members and currently the honorary secretary of an NGO called Pain Relief and Palliative Care Society, which runs a hospice and an extensive community based palliative care program for patients living with life limiting illnesses in Hyderabad. She is especially interested in chronic pain management and palliative care for children and runs a unique palliative and end-of- life-care program for children with cancer in Hyderabad. Gayatri is one of the past members of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Hospice and Palliative Care (IAHPC). Previously she held the position of associate professor at the Department of Palliative Medicine at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, and was a senior registrar of the Pain and Palliative Care Society, Calicut, a WHO Demonstration Project. Gayatri earned a diploma in anesthesiology as well as a diploma from the National Board in Anesthesiology, India, and from San Diego University, USA.
