Srbijanka Turajlic


Srbijanka Turajlic is consultant for TERI Engineering, an ICT company in Belgrade, Serbia. As a professor of control engineering, she spent most of her professional life lecturing at the School of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, with occasional visiting professorships in the region and in the US. She was a founding member and chair of the board of the Alternative Academic Educational Network (AAEN). Dr. Turajlic served as deputy minister of education of the Republic of Serbia (2001 – 2004). During that time she was in charge of the higher education system in Serbia and steered the HE reform process. She was appointed the holder of the UNESCO-Chair for University Management at the AAEN, and then as the chair for the Development of Education at the Center for Education Policy. She graduated from the School of Electrical Engineering at the University of Belgrade and obtained M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the same school. Ms. Turajlic has attended many sessions at the Salzburg Global Seminar, most recently ISP 42, Mellon Fellow Community Initiative - Colleges and Universities as Sites of Global Citizenship (2010).
