Shereen LERNER is chair of the Department of Cultural Science and a member of the Anthropology faculty at Mesa Community College in the Maricopa County Community College District. Dr. Lerner has been involved in the development of Mesa Community College’s Academic Global Awareness Certificate which is an interdisciplinary program administered through the Department of Cultural Sciences with the aim of allowing students to understand the interconnectedness of peoples and societies in many contexts. Dr. Lerner is interested in anthropology, archaeology, and world cultures. She teaches courses on socio-cultural anthropology, world archeology, comparative religion, archeology field methods, and principles of archeology. She is a former Arizona historic preservation officer with the Arizona State Parks system. Dr. Lerner is a member of the Society for American Archeology. She received a Ph.D. in archeology from Arizona State University in Tempe.
