Shelley Danner

Program Director, Challenge Detroit, Detroit, Michigan, USA

Shelley is the program director of Challenge Detroit. She has a multi-disciplinary background that combines business-consulting experience with a passion for impact that pivoted her career into social innovation in 2012. By helping launch, design, and run an innovative fellowship program, and through fostering an ecosystem of cross-sector partnerships, she has co-designed and led over 150 community impact projects in partnership with local nonprofits and supported the growth of over 200 leaders in the city. Shelley is also an adjunct faculty teaching design thinking in the Integrated Design MFA at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit and sits on the advisory board for the University of Detroit Mercy Masters of Community Development Program. Shelley is a 2019 Detroit Young Professionals Vanguard Awardee and was recognized by Crain's Detroit Business as one of the 2018 Notable Women in Nonprofits. She is also engaged on the founding advisory committee of the Detroit Women's Leadership Network and is passionate about supporting women leaders. Shelley holds a B.Sc. in business from Miami University in Ohio and has completed a leadership coaching graduate certificate through the Institute of Transformational Leadership at Georgetown University.
