My name is Christina Achkar, 18, Lebanese, sophomore at AUB. I am French educated and excelled in History and languages at school. I have been involved in music and sports since childhood. I really enjoy doing humanitarian and social work, such as volunteering with the Order of Malta youth who take care of disabled people. I love my country, and feel blessed to live in Beirut. However, I enjoy travelling, meeting new people and experiencing new cultures.
I chose to major in media and communication because I'm interested in acquiring skills such as being a good writer and speaker. I like to read and write articles and opinion pieces about topical subjects. I've also had a bit of experience with filming, interviewing and reporting, which is my favorite part of journalism. I hope to be better in digital and computer skills.
I think that as a young adult, I should be grateful and take every opportunity that come in my way. I believe that spreading positive energy and find ways to keep going and be inspired is important to evolve as a person. Whether it is on the personal level or professionally, I try to make the most out of every experience to grow in every way.
