Caroline Long is 19 years old and lives in Silver Spring, Maryland, on the border of Washington, DC, the capitol of the United States. She currently studies Journalism at Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts, but has a passion for performance and writing. In her first year of college she hosted a Health and Fitness segment on her school's award-winning morning show, Good Morning Emerson. She is also a member of the editorial staff for EM Magazine, a student-run fashion and lifestyle publication. In her free time, she enjoys participating in community theatre, as well as hiking and outdoor sports. She enjoys writing for fun and for her self-run blog (runningwithterriers.com<<http://runningwithterriers.com>>). She recently wrote about challenging the stigma of veganism in today's college environment, and looks forward to writing about her experiences in Salzburg and Eastern Europe. With her degree in journalism, she hopes to become a writer for a major newspaper, magazine, or online publication, but is also interested in pursuing a career in broadcast television. By experiencing the Salzburg Global Seminar and studying with the Salzburg Academy on Media and Global Change, she hopes to gain a broader perspective of international impact and the importance of social media. She also hopes to make lasting connections with her professors and fellow students.
