Sasa Vucinic

Saša VUCINIC is co-founder and managing director of the Media Development Loan Fund (MDLF), an organization that is creating a new class of media entrepreneurs by providing affordable and targeted capital, technical and accounting support, and peer-to-peer connections. Since 1996, the fund has supported 64 media organizations in 22 countries, deploying almost $70 million, with a 97% repayment rate. Before founding MDLF, Mr. Vucinic worked in Prague as a media consultant to the Soros Foundation, where he designed and managed projects assisting independent media organizations in Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. From 1990 to 1993, Mr. Vucinic was the editor-in-chief and general manager of Radio B-92 in Belgrade, Yugoslavia's most important and respected independent radio station. He began his journalism career as a reporter at the weekly political newsmagazine Non, eventually becoming its editor-in-chief.
