My name is Connie Chan Oi Yan (in Chinese my name means nice and happy). I am a Ph.D. student in communications at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. I hold an M.A. in Journalism and completed M.Phil. in 2013. Previously, I worked in the journalism field for more than 10 years, mainly in TV broadcasting. I worked for three broadcasting news stations in Hong Kong: Television Broadcasts Limited, Asia Television Broadcasts Limited, and Phoenix TV. My duties included 24 hours news reporting, financial news editing, international news, and health programme hosting. I took part in some major news events, for example NPC Opening Meeting, Hu-Lien Talks, WTO conference in Hong Kong and Land Auctions. I conducted exclusive interviews with Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited Executive Director Peter Wong, former Executive Director Vincent Cheng, and former Chairman David Gordon Eldon. In addition, I am author of the Chinese book "Famous Hong Kong Enterprises", published in 2003.
