Peter Webinger has been the Deputy Director-General for Legal Affairs and head of the Directorate for Migration, Citizenship Affairs, Asylum and Human Rights in the Austrian Ministry of the Interior since 2009. He is highly involved in multiple committees dealing with issues of migration and asylum, including SCIFA (Strategic Committee on Immigration, Frontiers, and Asylum) and the Austrian Migration Council. In addition, Mr. Webinger serves as the editor of Stable States - Rethinking social cohesion and good governance and the scientific series regions, et res publicae. He is an lecturer for the Strategic Leadership Course of the Austrian government, teaching about migration and asylum. Mr. Webinger studied law in Salzburg and Vienna, Austria and Uppsala, Sweden.
