Maria Fernandez Sabau

María Fernández Sabau is a strategic thinker and policy advisor with two decades of experience developing vision and impact strategies for leading institutions in the public, private and third sectors worldwide. She combines an extensive track record in the cultural field as a strategic planner with in-depth knowledge of migration. Civil society engagement is at the core of her work and she is passionate about institutional purpose. As an independent advisor she supports leaders and Boards identifying upcoming trends, setting priorities and developing new initiatives that create positive change. She is regularly invited to speak at specialized forums about the role of civil society and the business sector in the integration of migrants and refugees. María is a guest professor at the Inditex Corporate Responsibility Chair, where she teaches corporate policies for social impact, and a member of the Fundación Compromiso Empresarial Advisory Board. With a background in business administration and political science, she holds a master's degree in contemporary migration with a specialization in social innovation, and recently completed her dissertation on the private sponsorship of refugees.
