Robin Miege

Head of Unit G-1, Sustainable Development and Economic Analysis, European Commission, Brussels

Robin Miège is the head of the Sustainable Development and Economic

Analysis Unit in the Directorate General Environment of the European

Commission. His responsibilities cover the Environmental pillar of the

EU Lisbon and Sustainable Development Strategies, Better Regulation in

the environment field, and economic instruments for environmental

protection. His previous assignment was head of Strategic Co-operation

and Technology Transfer at the European Commission's Joint Research

Centre (the EC's corporate research centre). Prior to this, Mr. Miège was

in charge of the development and management of EC Innovation and

Technology Transfer programs and policies. He has been associated with

the development of many community measures related to innovation

promotion, venture capital, IPR, SME support, science parks, start up

creation, and entrepreneurship. Qualified in economics and political

sciences, Mr. Miège worked in UK academia and in regional economic

development organizations in France before joining the Commission.
