Carlos Eduardo Serrano Vásquez

Carlos Eduardo Serrano Vasquez works as the capacity building coordinator at the International Council of Museums (ICOM), Paris and leads the training strategy for the international community of museum professionals. Carlos is a communication and media professional and has extensive knowledge in the field of business administration and world heritage studies. Previously, he led the Department of Education and Cultural Activities at the National Museum of Colombia and worked as consultant of UNESCO World Heritage Centre. He has also worked as site manager of San Agustin Archaeological Park, university teacher, and as researcher, planner and developer of exhibitions and cultural projects. He has participated in international courses such as the Intensive Course on Museology (JICA-Japan), Safeguarding Sound and Image Collections (ICCROM-Kenya) and The Engaging Museum (China). His interdisciplinary knowledge and intercultural experience have been a strong asset to plan, manage and develop projects aiming to raise awareness about the value of cultural heritage.
