Based in Beirut all 20 years of her life, Maya Wakim developed a love affair with the many facades of her city. Beirut's aesthetics helped her find herself and triggered her passion for filming, writing and discovering. Stories behind faces and streets flare her curiosity instinct and inspire her to explore and communicate with people. For these reasons, she is pursuing a bachelor degree in Media & Communication with emphasis in Journalism, at the American University of Beirut in Lebanon, hoping to develop her hobbies into professional work.
Her interest in art history and literature emerges from her family, which includes painters, writers and musicians. While they are scattered around the world, Maya hopes to collaborate with them and uncover other cities' secrets in the upcoming future. In the mean time, she enjoys supporting local talents and being a tourist in her own country.
