I am Zoe Tam Hio-Tong. I major in Journalism and Communication and minor in Government and Public Administration at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. I am so thrilled to join the Salzburg Academy and meet outstanding people from all around the world. My professional ambition is to be a journalist in my hometown, Macau, a former Portuguese colony and a gambling empire in South China. Macau has gained a reputation in recent years as a gambling mecca. However, beneath the glitz and neon is a vibrant Portuguese-Chinese fusion culture. As a Macanese and a journalism student, I wish that I could draw others' attention to the true colours of Macau.
