Dakota McCoy

Rhodes Scholar, University of Oxford, United States

Dakota "Cody" McCoy is an MPhil student and Rhodes Scholar in the Oxford University Centre for the Environment. Her interest in early childhood education began with her father's book/project The Pittsburgh Plan; describing an interactive, low-pressure method for parents to teach young children math and reading has been used all over the USA and the world. With four other Rhodes Scholars of diverse backgrounds, she founded Storyloom, a crowd-sourced platform to generate early childhood educational materials in mother tongue languages. Her primary research interests lie in behavioral economics, from childhood development to environmental engagement. She holds a B.Sc in Evolutionary Biology (with some focus on psychology) from Yale University, and has multiple peer-reviewed articles in the field.
