Philip Yeo

Senior Advisor for Science & Technology to the Minister for Trade & Industry, Singapore; Chairman of SPRING Singapore (Standards, Productivity and Innovation Board)

Philip YEO, Singapore Philip Yeo is the special advisor for economic development in the Singaporean Prime Minister’s Office, senior advisor for science and technology in the Singaporean Ministry of Trade and Industry, and chairman of the Standards, Productivity and Innovation Board (SPRING) in Singapore. Until March 2007, Mr. Yeo was the chairman of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research and, before this, served as chairman of the Economic Development Board. Mr. Yeo was the first chairman of the National Computer Board from 1981 to 1987, where he played a leading role in formulating and championing Singapore’s first national computerization plan to bring the nation into the information age. Mr. Yeo holds an M.S. in systems engineering from the University of Singapore and an M.B.A. from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
