Antonia Byatt is the director of Literature Strategy at Arts Council England where she has the overview of funding and support for reading and writing. Previously she was director of the Womens Library, London Metropolitan University, the largest collection of womens history in the United Kingdom. She was also head of Literature at the South Bank Centre where she programmed major festivals such as Poetry International and a regular series of events, talks and discussions around writing.
