Anthony Simon

former president, Marketing Foods Division, Unilever

Anthony Simon retired in 2004 from Unilever Bestfoods where he held the position of president, Marketing Foods Division. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Unilever Bestfoods, the third largest food company in the world. With thirty-seven years of experience in the global food industry, he assumed a variety of assignments in marketing, business development, and general and top management across continental Europe and the United States. Mr. Simon served as a member of the Board of Advisors of The Seawater Foundation. He is an informal advisor to the President of the World Business Council on Sustainable Development and deeply committed to helping achieve the ecological and economic balances that the planet needs. A member of the board of the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics at Lund University, Sweden, he also serves on the Board of Donors and Advisors of the World Future Council, an organization that will be launched in Hamburg, Germany, in 2007, and will serve as a global advisory body on ethics in business and government. He studied at the University of Oxford, and received an M.B.A. from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
